My Manuscript Wish ListNatalie Hallak, Harlequin/MIRA/HarperCollins I'm looking to start building my list in upmarket fiction: gems that hit the sweet spot between literary and commercial, the kind of fiction that's whip-it smart and emotionally resonant with a wide range of audiences, perfect for juicy book club discussions. My genre interests also include speculative fiction, psychological suspense, and narrative nonfiction. In particular, I love books that fearlessly blend genres and are told in a unique, unforgettable voice(s)--and I'd be extra thrilled to see projects featuring underrepresented voices, settings, and/or events in history. Fun facts about me: I wrote and self-published a novel at the age of 13, which is about what you would expect: a middle schooler's assumption of what high school looks like, mostly based off of the stereotypes found in MEAN GIRLS. I wish I was kidding. Submission GuidelinesVital Info |

I'd like the next...
See my Keep Forever Shelf below. I would've loved to have been the editor for any of those books. My favorites include... Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman, The Immortal Life of Henriette Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon, Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple, and Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter. Also, I'm currently obsessed with Game of Thrones (the tv show, I haven't gotten around to dedicating the months it would take to read the books), Jane the Virgin, Broad City, and the Welcome to Night Vale podcast.
