Allison Carroll

Harlequin HQN Books

My Manuscript Wish List®

Allison is currently acquiring romance and commercial women’s fiction for HQNBooks.

Allison is particularly interested in modern day love stories, with big secondary plots/characters (a la themes of sisterhood, mother/daughter relationships, etc.). A book that makes her weepy—in a good way! Whether it’s a modern retelling of a classic story, a long-distance relationship book, historical or time slip, a speculative love story or, yes, that big weepy love story, strong hooks and a commercial voice are a must.

Allison is also searching for fresh voices in romance. She’s on the hunt for a small town contemporary with a Southern setting (and all the flare that goes along with it!), and is also on the lookout for a great sports romance. She loves contemporaries with urban settings and working class heroes, as well as alpha bad boys and anti-heroes in a contemporary setting a la mob/mafia romances. Romantic suspense is also a passion of hers, from action-packed to psychological thrill-rides.
