In nonfiction, I’m looking mainly for history, politics, and popular culture. Some things I’m interested in right now include:

• Food and tradition
• Underdiscussed historical moments/figures
• Policing & the carceral state
• Urban development & gentrification
• Topics in art, architecture, design, fashion

In fiction: It’s all about realist, emotionally-resonant stories, often with a dark sense of humor and very strong characterization. Work steeped in issues of class, race, migration, patriarchy, and other relations of power tend to resonate, but so does more fun stuff if it’s good!!!
