Denise Zaza

As an editor with more than thirty years of industry experience, Denise Zaza knows a carefully crafted plot and well-motivated characters are key for lasting publishing success. Formerly with Harlequin Books, a global publisher of commercial fiction novels and a division of HarperCollins, she was responsible for the Harlequin Intrigue mystery romance imprint. She worked with hundreds of authors and agents over the decades including several New York Times bestsellers.  Now, she’s sharing that wealth of knowledge with Crooked Lane Books as an editor at large acquiring fast-paced commercial crime fiction.  She loves complex mystery plots with layers of unexpected twists, psychological thrillers, Southern gothic novels and animal sleuth cozies.
