My Manuscript Wish List®

I’d love to see a fun, girl-driven middle grade adventure, possibly with series potential. Think Indiana Jones, if Indiana Jones was an 11-year-old girl.

Diversity, please! I want to see main characters from all sorts of backgrounds, particularly if the story concept feels tried-and-true or evergreen.

For chapter books, I’m really looking for our new, contemporary version of THE BOXCAR CHILDREN, set somewhere that is *not* a sleepy suburb.

Comedy, please. Laugh-out-loud comedy. This goes for MG and YA. In YA, I want to see a sweet/earnest but hilarious rom-com in the vein of CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND. In MG comedy, I’d love to see an amusing coming-of-age with an Issa Rae-esque voice and lovable side characters.

Complicated family dynamics in YA. A mother/daughter story, or a brother/sister story.
