Serendipity Literary Agency

My Manuscript Wish List®

At Serendipity Literary Agency, I’m mainly an assistant for CEO Regina Brooks but also co-agent clients of my own. In my free time, I love to sing, play my ukulele, and bake, my specialties being pies and tiramisu (aka. sarahmisu). Along with working for Serendipity, I’m a graduate of NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute. Through this program, I earned my internship at Foundry Literary + Media then went on to intern for Corvisiero Literary Agency and Sourcebooks Publishing. In addition, I served as the events and social media manager at the Learned Owl Bookshop and am currently earning my master’s at the New School with a concentration in Writing for Children and Young Adults (yes, their mascot is a narwhal).

What I’m Looking For:

I’m interested in all genres of children’s fiction, specifically Young Adult, Middle Grade, and Picture Books. Within these genres, I wants gripping stories that will impact and stay with me long after I finish reading, supported by unique voices, compelling worlds, and three-dimensional characters. I love characters, especially antagonists, who aren’t simply good or bad but are truly complex, such as the antagonists from Laini Taylor’s Strange the Dreamer duology (which had me sobbing). I’d also love to escape into a YA or MG with the playful prose, lovable characters, and whimsical world offered by T.J. Klune’s novel House in the Cerulean Sea (yet another book that made me cry). Here are some of my other areas of interest at the moment:

  • Middle-grade and young adult horror
  • Young adult romance
  • Books featuring ADHD characters

I am NOT interested in the following:

  • Nonfiction
  • Stories involving sexual abuse
  • Poetry
