Paloma Hernando (she/her/hers) joined Einstein Literary Management as an Associate Agent in 2020. Paloma has been working in independent publishing since 2015, involved in editing, publishing, and selling mini-comics, zines, graphic novels, webcomics, and large-scale anthologies. A 2017 graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art, Paloma currently lives in Brooklyn.
My favorite books/comics that I’ve read recently are:

Fun facts about me:
- I am Argentinian and speak Spanish (and read Spanish books!)
- I’ve tabled at over 30 different comic shows since starting in 2015
- I used to help run a very active Fullmetal Alchemist fan-group on DeviantArt
- I worked as a camp counselor for a summer LARP-ing camp
- My favorite movie is High School Musical, my second favorite is Mulholland Drive
- My go-to karaoke song is “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston

For prose, please submit a query letter and the first ten double-spaced pages of your manuscript in the body of the email (no attachments) to submissions@einsteinliterary.com. Please put “Paloma Hernando” and your MS title in the subject line of your email.
For illustrated works, if you’re submitting a comic or graphic novel, please attach appropriate pitch materials to your email and link me to your portfolio.
In your graphic novel pitch packet, please include:
- Full, detailed synopsis of the work
- Intros and descriptions of the main characters
- Any relevant setting descriptions
- 10 finished comic pages

I’d like the next…
Graphic novels that pushes the edges of the genre, books that know everything that comics can do and are excited to tell a story in a new, unique way. I want to read romance that is fresh and organic, and stories that weave together fantasy and drama, horror and contemporary, and any other unlikely genre combination. I also like fun stories with a big heart and a good sense of humor– I love reading fanfic and watching Disney Channel Original Movies, so I can stomach more than your average level of cheesiness.
Actively Looking For:
- Adult and older-YA graphic novels
- Queer love stories in unlikely situations
- Paranormal stories that care just as much about the monsters
- Fantastic worlds that I’ll want to live inside of
- Trans characters in leading roles
- PoC-focused re-imaginings of classic stories
- South American settings, especially not from a white perspective
- Parts of history that no one usually focuses on, non-western, non-war-focused, and pre-BC historical fiction especially!
