Nicolás (Nico) Ore-Giron is an Assistant Editor at Roaring Brook Press, an imprint of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. He is exclusively acquiring middle grade and young adult fiction (prose and graphic novels).
He loves genre fiction like fantasy (high fantasy welcome!), sci-fi, and horror with writing that has a literary edge to it. When it comes to contemporary, he tends to lean towards more high-concept stories with a strong hook. But no matter the genre, Nico is always drawn to character-driven projects with a distinct voice.
He is especially interested in: stories by/about people of color, trans people, and disabled people
He is not the editor for: poetry or novels in verse, most nonfiction, stories that contain sexual assault
