My Manuscript Wish List®

Hi everyone,

I’m delighted to share my wish list. I’m a kidlit literary agent representing picture books, middle grade, and young adult authors, author-illustrators, and illustrators. I’m currently open to unsolicited queries through June 6, 2023.

Right now, I’m particularly looking for adventure and/or mystery middle grade, funny picture books (author-illustrated or author only), and author-illustrated graphic novels.

 

My taste is incredibly eclectic and pretty dichotomous. On one side, I really connect with emotional writing and, on the other, very funny stories. But both, both is THE BEST! (Creators who can do this are magicians, in my eyes!) In all categories, I’m always looking for diversity all in forms, including but not limited to BIPOC, neurodiversity, and LGBTQ+.

For picture books, I enjoy representing illustrators, author-only, and author-illustrators as well. For style, I like them all: character-driven, concept, and any creative new formats ideas you might have! I connect with poignant, lyrical writing (rhyme and non-rhyme) just as much as laugh out loud funny, and of course, the best are those magical books that mix humor and heart. I also enjoy nonfiction STEAM books.

For middle-grade and young adult stories (including author-illustrated graphic novels), I lean toward fiction. I love coming-of-ages stories, friendship stories, adventurous fast-paced stories, mysteries, intergenerational stories, empowering stories, stories with a bit of magic (high fantasy isn’t generally my thing, but I always enjoy a little magic), and quirky stories.

I love learning new things in non-didactic ways. For humor, I run the gamut: from well placed puns to slapstick to high brow humor. I’d also be super interested to see some scary stories that aren’t gruesome. Note: I generally lean PG and PG-13, though some intensity here and there is fine.

I love working with artists, so I’m always on the lookout for great portfolios, author-illustrators, and graphic novelists.

I’m an editorial agent enjoy working with my clients to make sure we’re putting out their best work. I’m highly communicative and invested in every aspect of helping my clients have a strong and happy career.

I was an intern for NASA for 3 summers in college.

I love math just as much as English.
