My Manuscript Wish List®

My interests lean to books that are well-written, accessible, and have wide-appeal. I am eager to discover stories with a new twist, or writing so compelling it makes me want to dive into an unfamiliar topic, stories with layers, stories of empowerment, stories of real kid life, stories about our relationship with nature and ourselves, and the occasional fantastical escape. I relish the diverse art styles, different narrative traditions, and unique perspectives of people from around the world. I have a soft spot for heart and humor, evergreen read-alouds, quirky characters, rhyme (if it’s really, really good–think Julia Donaldson), and am a sucker for books where a character gets eaten. I enjoy a clever mystery. I don’t like to be a stickler about categories because every time I say I would never do a certain kind of book then one shows up on my desk that I completely fall for and I eat my words. Currently I am looking to partner with picture book authors and author/illustrators, graphic novel author/illustrators creating for ages 5-12, and middle grade fiction writers. My list may expand in the future, so stay tuned!

I am not currently seeking non-fiction in Middle Grade or any Young Adult, fiction or non-fiction.
