My Manuscript Wish List

Cindy represents a wide range of nonfiction and select children’s fiction and nonfiction. As a former (and fully recovered) lawyer, she brings a hands-on editorial approach to each project while thinking about how a project fits into an author’s long-term career. Since becoming a literary agent in 2015, she’s represented clients such as Mari Andrew, Cecile Richards, Bridget Beth Collins, Brent Preston, John Donohue, Evan Rice, Shelly Westerhausen, Shiva Rose, Timothy Joy, Kristin Russell, and many others. She is actively building her list and is always on the lookout for new voices, fresh perspectives, and diversity across the board.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should be emailed to

Please send a query letter, including any salient biographical information or previous publications, and attach the first 25 pages of your manuscript. You should address your query to whichever agent you think is best suited for your project (click here to view agent bios).

Please send a query letter and a full proposal, including biographical information, previous publications, credentials that qualify you to write your book, marketing information, and sample material. As with fiction projects, please address your query to a particular agent whom you believe would be interested in your project.

Please note that we do not accept submissions for poetry collections or screenplays, and we only consider picture books by established illustrators. Poetry collections and screenplays will not receive a response.

While we consider all submissions seriously, we are unable to reply to all of them, and will respond to any projects that interest us within four to six weeks.

Guidelines & Details

As a new addition from The Manuscript Academy, #MSWL’s sister company, we are now offering ten-minute e-meetings with a select group of our agents and editors to discuss your work, what you can do better–and how to maximize your chances in the submissions process. You’ll be able to pick from Skype, Hangouts, or a phone call–and, yes, this works internationally. Please see our FAQ, our step-by-step guide to booking your meeting, a list of participating agents and editors–and consider joining our Facebook group, a free, friendly community of writers cheering each other on through this process.

Please note: Meetings are posted once monthly, and then often sell out. If there are meetings available, you’ll see them bolded on the calendar below after clicking “Set Time Zone.”
